Japanese term or phrase: 秀吉ゆかりの大名
This appears in the sentence "秀吉ゆかりの大名の財力を消耗させ" in reference to the public work effort(天下普請) commissioned to build Nagoya castle. I can't found out what "Hideyoshi Yukari" refers to as it seems to not necessarily be a name. Is it referring to a family/clan named Hideyoshi, and yukari means 縁? I only find results online for 秀吉ゆかりの地 or 秀吉ゆかりの湯, which further confuse me since it's usage doesn't look like a proper name there. There is no mention of someone by this name anywhere from what I can find, so it can't be a full name. My assumption is that it's saying "Exhausting the assets of the Hideyoshi (related) Daimyo(s)."

Any historical context is appreciated!

English translation:Daimyo (Japanese feudal lord) associated with Hideyoshi.
Explanation:
ゆかり means A has a close connection /relevance with B. Ieyasu Tokugawa (the founder of Tokugawa Shogunate) was in a bid to take over the control over the country after Hideyoshi's death, so he needed to suck the power and money of the daimyos associated with Hideyoshi so he can repress the resistance of such daimyo.
