I'm reviewing a job that suggests "reaction synchronous motor", but I can't find much online with that search term.

I wondered if it could be historically related to synchronous reluctance motors because a paper connects those topics. However, reluctance motors have a Wikipedia article in both English and Japanese and I can't find "reaction synchronous" as an expression there either.

This is from a catalog translation of a parts supplier. Not much other context, but Google gives about 40k results and multiple Japanese companies offering these kinds of motors, so it seems to be a relatively common term in Japan:

Asker: I settled on "synchronous motors" for the record, that seems to be the most generally accepted. Thanks.
