Japanese term or phrase: ダウプリント加工
表面に凸を作り、強いシール力をもたせる加工である。

One could just assume the spelling is "dow print" but that
doesn't seem to come up anywhere on the net.

Anyone happen to know the correct English term for this?

Thanks in advance!

A problem of poor adhesion of the surface coating used by the company in a particular application required urgent attention. Indestructible were consulted by Dowty, and a satisfactory solution was found.

I don't know how プリント should be interpreted here. Is this a method of applying the seal? I don't think coating is appropriate unless the seal covers the whole surface area of the material. But it's difficult to say without knowing what kind of material we are talking about. Are we talking about gaskets, for example?

Reference: ダウ is a typo for ダイ。。。

Reference information:
。。。as the "u" on the keyboard is adjacent to the "i." You would've thought someone would have proofread this, yet I am positive that we must begin by recognizing that this is a typo.
See this discussion for identical typo at 12:44 time stamp:

Now see this page:

I think that we can stipulate that it's "ダイプリント,” but then...what is that??
Is ダイ short for "direct?" or "dye?" Both are plausible, but I'm going with "dye print," which in proper English, is probably "dye-sublimation printing," or "dye-printing. In the photo Soonthon links to (which appears to be your source for the original text), we can see the arrow pointing to a light-blue line printed onto the fabric of the gasket. That type of printing would seem to be what is described in this Wikipedia entry for dye-based printmaking:
(..."liquid dye penetrates and chemically bonds to the fiber.")
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Printmaking#Pigment-based_vs._d...

I've gotten you pretty close. I'm not 100% certain that "dye-print" is the precise English term, but if not, it's got to be something very similar. So I won't answer this in answer form, but otherwise hope this all helps. Good luck!
