catch per unit effort (CPUE) Explanation: Not my specialty, but this appears to be a widely accepted term/abbreviation. If you have a low CPUE (small amount of fish caught each time the boat(s) go out) you have to increase your fishing efforts to catch more, thus raising your CPUE. In the summer more people go fishing and apparently this decreases the amount of fish caught per outing. Something like: The highest prodoctivity indicator values, Catch per Unit Effort, are recorded in the late spring months. The lowest values recorded during summer menoths appear to be due to the increase in fishing. Does that help? -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 days19 hrs (2008-08-25 04:26:47 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Nice to know! Sorry about the spelling mistakes! |
