I'm really struggling with this sentence...

L’esclusione delle/i protezioni/dispositivi di sicurezza inibisce i movimenti pericolosi originati da una azione (involontaria o volontaria) sui sensori interni alla macchina?

It is for a CE testing form - it is a generic question that could be posed for any machine. In this case the question is irrelevant to the machine concerned.

So far, all I've come up with is very literal and to my mind makes no sense, making me think I've misunderstood the Italian.

"Does the exclusion of protective measures/safety devices inhibit hazardous motions originating from an action (voluntary of involuntary) on the sensors inside the machine?"

How does the EXCLUSION of a protective measure INHIBIT a danger?
So puzzled right now :/

Here's my attempt
Explanation:
Will the disactivation of protection or safety devices inhibit any dangerous motion that might be caused by intentional or unintentional action on the sensors inside the machine?

but it still doesn't make a great deal of sense to me. The "garbage in = garbage out" rule applies.

Or in other words: it's impossible to make a meaningful translation out of a nonsensical source text.

agree  Rosanna Palermo: exclusion in Italian can also mean deactivating (switching off) as Tom said. Inibire also means "prevent".
