Il progetto prevede l’istituzione di un Biomass Energy Point (BEP), ossia uno sportello informativo e di consulenza giuridica permanente avente centro direttivo presso il preponente e con diramazioni nei GAL interessati. In Puglia verranno istituiti 4 BEP, uno in ogni GAL delle 4 province.

I'm mostly asking this because I think it could be a useful addition to the glossaries... I think GAL = Gruppo ad Alto Livello = High Level Group. Could someone either confirm my suspicions or give an alternative? The context is a report on the development of biomass as a renewable fuel.

Pls consider it is a new definition of something that already exists!
Namely PRO LOCO (dating back to 1958).
Here the definition from dictionary:
"pro locoloc. lat.; in it. loc. sost. f. inv.• Ente che ha finalità di promozione culturale e turistica a favore di una località
• a. 1958"

Pro loco is Latin. Of course we have to modernize! Svecchiare!
