Italian term or phrase: attenzione filologica
Una lavorazione molto innovativa per l’epoca, eseguita oggi con ***attenzione filologica***.

Description of a newly-produced version of a mid-century modern piece of furniture.
I interpreted attenzione filologica as 'historical accuracy' but am having doubts about whether that is correct. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

agree  philgoddard: I don't understand the full connotations of "filologica", but this does appear to be the approximate meaning. //You could say something like "following a great deal of historical detective work".

-> Yes I'd say it means researching the original design and any documents that relate to the workmanship
