Italian term or phrase: fondali strascicabili
Hi all -

I am translating a document concerned with environmental concerns where drilling for oil is taking place offshore.

I am wondering how to best translate the phrase fondali strascicabili.

Here's the context:

...da una parte la riduzione delle superfici dei fondali strascicabili per le attività di pesca imputabile alla presenza fìsica delle strutture and ai divieti connessi all'istituzione di fasce di interdizione alla pesca and all'ancoraggio

My question centers around "strascicabili." It also appears in another context:

La Sicilia è un’importante zona strascicabile. I pescherecci con reti a strascico sono
stanziati per lo più a Mazara del Vallo, principale porto peschereccio della Sicilia,
nonché il più importante punto di sbarco in Italia.

Thanks for any help!

P.S. - If you think my question should be recategorized, please let me know. Thanks.

I think "seabed" would work.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Ciao Marco - trawlable - I think that's it! In re "fondali," what about "seabed"? Michael

Asker: On second thought; you are right about "bottoms." Thanks again.
