If that's the case, then "commercial sitcom" is wrong, and I'm going to submit another answer.
I'm not a native speaker so I'm not qualified to judge, but "commerciale" seems an odd way of describing it, unless it's analogous to the English "commercial" meaning "TV advertising". I would have expected something like "sit-com pubblicitario" or "sit-com di marca".

My client has just said:

With regard to SIT-COM COMMERCIALE, this is a real sit-com, with short episodes, a plot and actors, but it is created to advertise a brand and a product.

So I guess Phil's is closer up to now, unless we have a more precise way to describe this.

I believe what the author means is simply that his/her sitcom is aimed at the general public and does not just appeal to a specific type of audience (unlike a sitcom like 'The Big Bang Theory', which is mainly aimed at nerds).

Of course, this is just my idea because I don't have any other context. Hope it makes sense.
