Science - Botany / Posidonia oceanica
Italian term or phrase: Geosigmeto
Coastal dune environments are selective ecosystems characterized by a close interaction between abiotic and biotic factors in a dynamic balance. The present study focused on the psammophilous geosigmetum, the most affected by the interactions between physical processes and biological and anthropic processes.

neutral  philgoddard: I may be wrong, but I'm a bit suspicious of geosigmetum, because it gets very few hits and both your references are translations. Geosigmassociation gets almost no hits. Geoseries is a possibility.

-> It is also in this printed book 'The SAGE Handbook of Biogeography' edited by Andrew Millington, Mark Blumler, Udo Schickhoff. Just because there are not loads of web hits for a term it doesn't mean it's wrong and, naturally, the contrary is also true
