If someone wrote "ristretti" the reader could think it's where you order your espresso... I should do a search on Google for the likely Italian expressions for the secure area in airports.

I've never seen "static" used in that way. If there's no foot traffic, what's the point of building them?

In my opinion static refers to the fact that there is no foot traffic through the particular areas. This is the case in airports. In general they are divided in two: The general concourse open to the passengers, and the "behind the scenes" areas open only to employees and security officials (some kind of clearance is required in the form of a tag). Ergo the restricted secure areas

I think "luoghi" and "sicuri" are fairly obvious, but what about "statici'?
There are at least two possibilities:
1. Statici means "static", so it would exclude, say, lifts/elevators and airport shuttles
2. Statici means "designated". One definition is "set, unchanging":

This may be completely wrong, and perhaps a native Italian speaker could clarify it.
