Indonesian term or phrase: berembus
This term is from a sentence in a novel "Sesudah tiga kali mencoba tanpa hasil, kesabaranku merosot sampai ke taraf yang membuatku mulai menggumamkan kekesalanku pada angin yang berembus."
I think I would translate it as "the howling wind." Any better suggestions?

How about just “the wind”? Kalau tidak berembus, namanya bukan angin :).

Thanks Ian, good point it's important to remember that not every word always needs to be translated.

sweep

Explanation:
Howling suggests a very strong and whistling wind. While berembus suggests rather mild sweep.
IMHO, it can be said "the sweeping wind"

breeze

Explanation:
the word "berembus" suggests a gentle wind, so i would go with "breeze" for the equivalent meaning. but of course if you think it does not fit to the readers (i mean to the level of readers' acceptance & knowledge) just go with the word "wind" instead -- as Ian Forbes suggested earlier
