Maksud "pertinggal" ialah untuk disimpan/diarsipkan. Dalam surat-menyurat, lazim dtulis dengan "file", yang diletakkan pada tembusan terakhir.

Jika anda ingin melaksanakan kerja praktek di PT. Rekayasa Industri maka anda bisa mengajukan surat permohonan yang telah diketahui/disetujui oleh pihak Universitas dimana pada isi surat tersebut tercantum antara lain ; tujuan anda untuk melaksanakan kerja praktek, periode/waktu kerja praktek (berapa lama/bulan, terhitung mulai tanggal – sampai dengan tanggal) dan umumnya anda juga harus membuat laporan ke pihak Universitas dimana copy dari laporan tersebut bisa diberikan ke pihak kami sebagai pertinggal/file.

  -> It puts in the archive of the office. The current version does not use pertinggal, but "arsip." I don't think Indonesian "arsip" (as in KBBI) has a different meaning from English "archive". We embrace the word and the meaning wholly.
