nerve blocking/block anesthesia
Explanation:
I have a good friend who is a practicing dentist here in the States. I asked him about this question and here is what he said: "Dental anesthesia is administered two ways. One is by local infiltration - anesthetizing the branches off of the nerve roots, or the trunks of nerves - and the other way is NERVE BLOCKING, or block anesthesia, where you anesthetize the trunk or the root of a specific nerve." - David Partrite, D.D.S.
