köszönöm - jeleztem a lektornak, hogy tegye megfontolás tárgyává a honey cake-et is, de a Google képkeresője nagyon meggyőző találatokat hozott fel a a macaroon esetében: teljesen puszedlinek néznek ki :)

Explanation:
Dédpapám és nagymamám mézeskalács készítő volt.
A puszedli nála az az ehető mézes volt, amihez gyúrni kellett a tésztát, aztán kinyújtani vékonyra (fél cm), és kiszúróformával kis kör vagy nagyobb hosszúkás formákat bökni belőle, majd tepsin kemencében kisütni. Kihűlés után pedig ízesített cukormázzal kenték meg. Ilyet ma már csak a hagyományőrző mézeskalácsosok készítenek, a karácsony táján kapható, csokimázas, ilyen-olyan mézes sütik már sokkal másabbak, puhábbak, és több bennük az E szám :).
A "honey cake" kifejezés szerintem jó lenne, viszont használják a színes mézesre is (Hungarian honey cake), ami csak díszítésre, vásárfiaként szolgál(t), nem szokták megenni.
Külön téma a debreceni vert mézes, amit faragott formák segítségével készítenek. Tkp egy mézeskalács dombormű, legtöbbször kerek, nem színes, és meg lehet enni (csak kissé kemény).

Lehetséges, hogy mostanában már nem mézes sütiket is hívnak puszedlinek, de az biztos, hogy a fenti az eredeti.

agree  Péter Tófalvi: A puszedli „tartós mézes sütemény”. A javaslatod jó, esetleg lehet még honey biscuit is. Ez van a különböző receptes webhelyeken is.

A jó puszedli alapvető eleme a gyömbér, úgyhogy azt gondolom, a "gingerbread" lesz a legjobb találat. Aki evett, tudja.

Asker: szerintem is a puszedli és a mézeskalács lényegében ugyanaz, németül pl. van Pfefferkuchen, Lebkuchen meg Honigkuchen (ami angolul mind gingerbread persze... lehet, hogy ez is az)
