black magician Explanation: Ha németre fordítom, akkor ez a jelentése van a szónak. Nem tudom, hogy segít-e. |

garabonciások - mutatványosok travelling showmen / travelling showpeople Explanation: A garabonciás jelentése tudtommal "ördöngös vándor, aki különféle bajokat okoz" (Magyar értelmező kéziszótár). Ezzel szemben azt mondod, mutatványosokra van szükséged. A vásári mutatványos travelling showmen, persze a travelling showpeople vagy a travelling show person elkerüli a nemi megkülönböztetést. Lehet még fairground showmen, természetesen ez inkább az állandó helyszínen dolgozókra vonatkozik inkább. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2009-10-15 11:41:28 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Az idegen szavak szótárában ez áll: "a magyar népi hitvilág táltosszerű, természetfeletti erejű, vihar keltésére képes alakja", de erre nem tudok jó megfelelőt. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 5 hrs (2009-10-15 15:14:36 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Judit, azt írod, hogy az eredeti fogalomra is kellene angol megfelelő. A "garabonciás diák" fogalomra van bevett angol megfelelő, mégpedig a "wandering scholar" (Lehár művét így fordították). Erről pl. itt olvashatsz: "The figure of the garabonciás was strongly mixed during the centuries with that of the táltos, but this figure originates from the West. The name itself is perhaps connected with the Italian word gramanzia, “enchantment, devilry”. He is equally supposed to be ready to do good or evil, to conjure up storms, and he reads enchantments from his book because, {673.} strictly speaking, he is a version of the medieval journeying student who had finished the seven or thirteen years of schooling at the university. In the course of this he had also acquired black magic, which he passed on to the peasants during his wanderings. The Wandering Scholar knocked on the doors of the peasant houses and asked for milk or eggs to eat. If they refused his request or gave sparingly, he conjured up a storm and sent hail to the fields of the entire village, while he rode away on the back of a dragon. His figure appears to be more revengeful and dangerous than that of the táltos and undoubtedly, in the world of beliefs of the Hungarian peasantry, he represents European black magic." http://mek.oszk.hu/02700/02790/html/176.html#page672 (Hungarian Ethnography and Folklore) Az eredeti fogalomra akár ez is használható, a mutatványosok esetében szerintem a varázs-jelleg (és az utcajárás...) van inkább az előtérben. Street and walkabout artists/entertainers Explanation: Steet and walkabout artists, jesters, stiltwalkers, buskers, mimers etc. itt tudsz válogatni: http://www.streetentertainers.co.uk/ents.html Jobb egyenlőre nem jut eszembe. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 17 hrs (2009-10-16 02:34:14 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Persze ez inkább akkor, ha utcai mutatványosokról van szó. A garabonciás inkább tényleg varázsló.... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 17 hrs (2009-10-16 02:52:53 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Ha a garabonciást akarod lefordítani, talán a Kata megoldása a legjobb: Wandering Magicians For outdoor events we have some magical acts that will amaze you with their magic skill and make you laugh with their comical patter. Our Street Magic Shows are high energy affairs from the traditional Cup and Ball style Magicians to more zany magical performers. Whether you are looking for a Medieval Magic Guillotine Show or a Dickensian Street Magician, a wandering Magic Act or an up to date Modern Magician we will have the act to suit.
