pasta julienne


Explanation:
While a lifetime ago, I completed several hotel schools (in Holland and the US), and in both we used "julienne" for foods -mostly vegetables but also other stick-shaped foods- rather than "matchstick" or other derivative of that. And yes, I agree with you that the gyufametelt word is a uniquely Hungarian word, not easily translated. However, I would have to, it is "pasta julienne" or something similar that I would use. It is not exactly common, but neither is "gyufametelt"...
