lovey
Explanation:

"Baby Lovey – What Is It?

Really, a lovey can be anything that’s safe for a baby or toddler to have at sleep time. Most loveys are what you’d think of as “normal” comfort items – blankets, or stuffed animals. However, in our work with parents over the years, we’ve heard of some very strange loveys indeed! We’ve had parents tell us their babies used the following items as loveys:

throw pillows
pacifiers (or soothers, or binkies, or dummies – depends on your name for it!
toothbrushes
board books
spoons
washcloths and hand towels
puzzle pieces (big ones)"

"Baby Lovey – When to Introduce a Lovey

According to Dr. Barnett, the best time to introduce a lovey is somewhere around 12 months. At this age, your baby’s Moro reflex (also known as their startle reflex) has diminished, so there’s no longer a need to swaddle. This means babies’ arms are free to sweep the crib, find their lovey, and do what they need to do to settle. Starting early also gives your baby plenty of time to grow attached. After a few months, it will feel like it’s always been there.

Baby Lovey – Selecting a Lovey

The best lovies are not too big and don’t make any noise that could wake or distract your baby – no rattles or scrunchy bits. And while you might consider a big, soft blanket, Dr. Barnett doesn’t recommend them. “Babies can get tangled or find themselves lying on top of their blanket when they want it for comfort. They’re just too large.” Small stuffed toys, or little “blankies” make ideal lovies, although we’ve seen babies get attached to everything from spoons to washcloths. If it’s soothing and safe to keep in the crib, it’s okay."

neutral  Katalin Horváth McClure: Ezek spéci takaró-plüssállat hibridek, a nyunyókák viszont ettől sokkal többfélék lehetnek, meg merném kockáztatni, hogy a nyunyókapopulációnak ezek csak egy egészen kis szegmensét képezik. A nyunyókák világa ettől jóval sokszínűbb, változatosabb. ;-)

agree  Dr. Jozsef Dikter: A 'nyunyóka' emlékeztethet még a régi 'nyuszókám' reklámra is talán. A szót megalkotó személynek plüssnyuszis (vagy nyuszimotoros) unokaélménye lehetett.

teddy, softy, cuddly

Explanation:
Családtagot, szerettünket néha állatneveken szólítjuk, pl. 'cicuskám', 'nyuszikám', 'én mackóm' ... A nyuszi sok gyermeknek kedves háziállata, plüssjáték formájában is kapható. A plüssjátékok neve gyakran 'soft toy', vagy 'cuddly pet. Ha a 'nyuszókát' picit eltorzítva 'nyunyókának' mondja a kellemes arcú képzett szóvivő, akkor mi is leronthatjuk a cuddly pet' kifejezést a 'cuddly' elemre, vagy a 'soft toy' kifejezést 'softy'-ra, és kész az angol nyunyóka. Valójában kár lefordítani ilyen kirívóan eseti elnevezéseket. Ilyen helyzetre valók az 'átváltási műveletek' und c.o., pl. a 'cuddly' helyett 'teddy'. Remélem, sokan értik, mire gondolok.

Example sentence(s):
  • 'I Ordered a friendly frog cuddly yesterday and received it this morning. Can not be more happy with everything from the communication and the teddy itself.'
