Hebrew term or phrase: מדובר על...
Before your jaws hit the floor, of course I know what this means. :-)
I'm just suffering from tip-of-the-tongue phenomenon.

The issue I'm having is that I keep encountering it in quite high registers. I know how to phrase it in more than a few ways, but they always seem rather colloquial to me and definitely out of place in a legal document (or in this case a scientific analysis).

Sentence:
מאחר ומדובר על חלבון ספציפי...

I'm just looking for something 'elegant' and something a bit more formal than you would say to your mates down the pub :-)

Any help is greatly appreciated.

This is .., This is a case of, We are talking about

Explanation:
I very often just relate to this phrase by using "this is..." It seems to do the job and sounds more natural in English.
