agree  Ruth Rubina: Yes. The question is only what is תשלה and the answer is simply 5735.

5734 - 1974

Explanation:
Hello.
In essence, it is the calendar year 1974 (5734 Jewish year).
That is all contingent on the month, as the Jewish year commences in October.
Therefore, תשל״ה is in essence 1975 (5735)
It all depends whether it is Tishrei, Cheshvan or Kislev which will then make it 1974 (5735 Jewish year) as per the English calendar.
If it is TEVET and onward, it will make the calendar year 1975 (5735).
The rest remains in your hands to choose which and I hope to have been of assistance.
Cheers,
Deven AKA David.

disagree  Shalom Bresticker: It is the Jewish year 5735, which began on September 17, 1974 and continued to September 5, 1975.

-> That is all well and good, Shalom. But, since the Jewish year 5735 starts on September 17, this all depends whether it is Tishrei, Cheshvan or Kislev which will then make the Gregorian year as 1974 unless the Jewish year is after י״ז בְּטֵבֵת תשל״ה.

disagree  Textpertise: Shalom is 100% correct. To say the Jewish year starts in October is untrue. There is a 19-year cycle. Something like The Comprehensive Hebrew Calendar by Arthur Spier is used to find the secular date corresponding to the Hebrew date.

-> That is all well & good what you are saying. But, the assistance asked of us is to provide him with the Jewish year & the Gregorian year. You cannot possible expect him to provide whichever authority or body in EU or USA with a Jewish year, could you?
