Thanks, Peter. Maybe I didn't explain what's bothering me very well. What troubles me is not the reference to bank staff wearing uniforms but whether referring to them as "uniformed staff" is clear enough. "I think the company's strongest asset is its human resources and, mainly, its uniformed staff" - does that sound at all odd to you? It seems to me that by "uniformed staff" he's referring to employees with a specific role, namely, to customer service staff (it is clearly a specific subset of the employees that he considers an asset of the company, as he differentiates them from the rest of "human resources"). In that case, wouldn't it be better to translate it as "I think the company's strongest asset is its human resources and, mainly, its customer service staff" ? |
