German language (monolingual) [PRO]
Medical - Medical (general) / Medizinische Abkürzungen
German term or phrase: n.e.
MRSA-Status: n.e.

Das ist aus einem Arztbericht und ich kenne, was MRSA ist. Die Frage bezieht sich nur auf "n.e.". Was abkürzt man nach solche Art? Vielleicht "Negativ"?

neutral  Cilian O'Tuama: both would require a capital E // Exactly! We can only guess! But you'll admit with the present context that Steffen's answer is more likely as it is not a capital E.

-> This can be judged only if the asker provides enough contexte. Otherwise we can only guess. By the way, can you find an appropriate explanation without referring to medical literature?

disagree  Kim Metzger: 'nicht erhoben' ist wahrscheinlicher, da klein geschrieben

-> independent from what "ne" means, non-capitalization is no real proof for the signification. The same logic would assign different meaning to “ne” and “n.e.”

neutral  Johannes Gleim: weil Nachweis fehlt. http://www.medizinische-abkuerzungen.de/ führt ca. 50 Bedeutungen für "ne" auf. Darunter aber keine für "nicht erhoben". Auch http://www.abkuerzungen.de/result.php?searchterm=n.e.&langua... sagt dies nicht.
