German term or phrase: Sendkirche
In dem zu übersetzenden Text handelt es sich um frühgotische Architektur in Ostfriesland. Probleme bereitet mir jedoch ein eher religiöser Terminus- Sendkirche. Hier der Kontext:

"(...)In Ostfriesland dürfte man bei der 1250 als Sendkirche bezeugten Kirche St. Johannes Baptist in Engerhafe die Mauer zum ersten Mal in zwei Wandebenen aufgegliedert haben, denn sie gilt auch aus anderen Gründen als Vorbild für den Chor der Kirche St. Martini in Bunde(...)"

In einer Sendkirche fanden, vor allem im Mittelalter, geistliche Sittengerichte (Sendgerichte) statt. Leider lande ich bei meiner Suche mit m.E. relevanten spanischen Begriffen immer irgendwann bei der Inquisition, die nicht wirklich dasselbe ist ...

Given the deeper context of the term, "send" having its roots in the word "synod", then a translation rendering "Sendkirche" as a "synodal church" makes sense.
