Mi pregunta:
a) Comprobar (u otro) la posición del ... al
b) Comprobar (u otro) la posición del ... respecto del ???

la primera (a) sale natural al traducir pero para mis se puede comprobar la distancia a algo pero no una posici´´on a algo, por eso opto por traducirlo como (b). Alguna otra sugerencia??? Gracias desde ya!!!
