Ich weiß nicht, wie der Begriff auf Portugiesisch lautet, aber hier eine Erklärung. Es handelt sich nicht nur um Nadelbäume!

Aus der Brockhaus-Enzyklopädie:
" Hartlaubvegetation, immergrüne Pflanzengesellschaften der Winterregengebiete (Mittelmeerraum, Kalifornien, Kapland, deren Arten besondere Anpassungen an trockene, heiße Standorte besintzen; sie sind v.a. durch ledrige Blätter gekennzeichnet, die auch mit Wachs überzogen oder behaart sein können. Typ. Vertreter dieser Hartlaubgewächse (Sklerophylen) snid Loorbeer, Oleander, Ölbaum, Rosmarni, Johannisbrotbaum, Korkeiche, Kermeseiche, Myrte, steineiche, Zistrose u.a."

Auf Englisch spricht man von "forest of leathery leaves", auf Franz. von "forêt sclérophile", aber "bosque sclerófilo" o.a. findet man nirgendwo...
