La frase in cui compaioni i due termini è la seguente: "Er war eben nicht nur Büchsenschäfter, sondern, wie wir aus einem einzigen Dokument ersehen werden, auch Büchsenmacher."
In realtà gli stessi termini ricorrono in tutto il testo, in particolare "Büchsenschäfter" è proprio il termine chiave che ricorre addirittura nel titolo dell'articolo "HANS SCHMIDT VON UND ZU HELDING - DER „KUNSTREICHE“ BÜCHSENSCHÄFTER VON FERLACH (um 1600-1669)"

All'inizio avevo scelto di tradurre "Büchsenschäfter" come "armaiolo", ma andando avanti ho capito che il termine è troppo generico e non va bene visto che poi appunto si parla anche di "Büchsenmacher". Da quel che ho capito pare che il primo realizzi soltanto "il fusto" del fucile, mentre il secondo realizza l'intero fucile, ma non riesco a trovare i nomi esatti di questi due diversi tipi di "artigiani".

Handwerker, der Schäfte für Gewehre, früher auch für Handwerker, der Armbrustwaffen und Pistolen herstellte, equivalente alla nostra professione di artigiano «calcista incassatore», che con scalpelli affilati dalle forme più svariate modella, incide, scava, liscia e colora infine col caldo riflesso dell´olio di lino un pezzo squadrato di legno in noce in modo che vada a combaciare, «vestendo» perfettamente le forme d´acciaio della bascula che contiene il meccanismo di sparo.
Sembra tuttavia una definizione recente della professione, non so quanto valida in un contesto storico.
