Das Brechelbad ist eine Saunavariante. Kräuter und ätherische Öle, die beim Brechelbad als Badezusätze verwendet werden, befreien die Atemwege und setzen ihre Wirkstoffe in der feucht-warmen Luft optimal frei.

Um das BRECHELBAD zu verstehen, sollten Sie, lieber Leser versuchen, sich zeitlich in das späte Mittelalter zurückzuversetzen. Im aufkommenden 18. Jahrhundert war es besonders im alpinen Raum, aber auch im Alpenvorland üblich, dass beinahe jedem größeren Gehöft ein Badehäusel mit dem Brechelbad angeschlossen war. Wegen der Feuergefahr durch das Beheizen war es allerdings Vorschrift, das Brechelbad etwas abseits vom Hofe zu bauen.

Thanks to Tanja and Dutchy - I like the latter's translation idea, but Tanja's research was excellent! This was a mega-urgent one so I put "special Alpine sauna" in the end or something!
