I think it is pretty clear what is meant here, but can anyone give me a good English equivalent. I have: The 130 rooms and suites are a great start to making the guests feel welcome. This doesn't feel right to me. Any help would be appreciated!

would be another option. As Armorel said, it needs to be quite carefully phrased to avoid giving the impression that the rooms are the best thing about the place!
