German term or phrase: Materialerfahrung
Bei verantwortungsvollem Einsatz kann mit diesem Spielgeraet fuer Kinder ein Beitrag zu einer vielseitgen Koerper-Bewegungs- und Materialerfahrung geleistet werden.

Refers to a plastic toy children can sit and roll around on, etc. inside the house. Does "material experience" make sense in English here?

tactile sensations
Explanation:
If I understand the sentence and context properly, perhaps something along these lines:

"Responsible use of this toy can help children acquire diverse motor skills and tactile sensations."

Alternative: substitute "exercise" for "motor skills" and reword

not sure...

Explanation:
I suppose it can easily be misread as material experience=important experience.

I would use the verb "to experience" (...children can experience...) and then just add body, movement and materials (or maybe textures?)
