Thanks - I think this probably covers part of it, and I'm still not sure that majorette dancing is an exact equivalent. I think for the purposes of the translation it's OK.

disagree  Nicole Schnell: Sorry - I have to disagree. Karnevaltanzsport (baton twirling and such, usually in uniforms) cannot be compared to Carnival as celebrated in Brazil or Mardi Gras as celebrated in the South of the USA.
