Ok, I understand that this is a kind of curly haircut or something.
But what exactly and where the word comes from? Is it a sort of acronym?

neutral  Marianne Hartz-Poseck: klar Locken - allerdings keine natürlichen, sondern künstliche - eben durch die Minipli entstandennen ;-)

-> Translation for Neva: "definitely curls - but not natural ones - artificial - created by the minipli"

agree  Francis Lee (X): "Bundesliga-Frisur" in Slovene; C/E. Europe is a linguistically diverse region, but perhaps our Asker understands this term, i.e. mullet ;-) / I think I already got that "subtle" difference, I think Asker got the point; I'll spare myself that link, ta 8-(

-> ;-) but as I understand it, the mullet and the minipli are two separate animals, often (and unfortunately) occurring in combination. See www.mulletsgalore.com for the best of the best examples ;-)

Minipli

Explanation:

It´s a brandname for a special perm - very popular in the 1980s - which is not as strong as a normal perm so that you get curls, but you hair does not get frizzy.
