There are so many possible translations of this word. The meanings of COD and BOD are clear from a chemistry standpoint (COD =CHEMICAL OXYGEN DEMAND) (BIOCHEMICAL OXYGEN DEMAND).

The question here is concerning "Weiterem belastet": What does the Weiterem refer to? (adj. further, additional, more, larger in quantity, extra; larger in size ). And the appropriate translation for the verb belasten, as used in context.
