German term or phrase: darstellen
Hello all,

I am struggling with this sentence, particularly the "darzustellen". I think it just means that this company's systems are completely automated, so they can ensure that you can always order fashion items and certain NOS (never out of stock) items. (That's what i've made out if it, anyway!)

"Firma X bietet eine vollständig EDI-basierte Abwicklung und somit die Möglichkeit, sowohl Fashion als auch NOS kompetent und ohne großen Aufwand darzustellen. "

Thanks for any help!

to record/reflect/show (in the system)
Explanation:
I believe IT lingo is called for here. As I understand it, both fashion and NOS items can be readily and effectively recorded/reflected/shown in the order (?) processing system offered by {company} as the system is fully EDI-based.

EDI = Electronic Data Interchange - see http://www.directedi.com/press/edi-glossary.html

I don't think that a typo is involved here.

Explanation:
Hils, long time no see...HNY to you. I think this is a mistake and should read "herzustellen" (manufacture / produce), but it is just a guess

Could I try this bit?
"...somit die Möglichkeit, sowohl Fashion als auch NOS kompetent und ohne großen Aufwand darzustellen."
"...makes it possible for you to present fashion as well as NOS items confidently and without trouble."

darstellen (in this context)
simply and effectively

Explanation:
(competently...), simply and effectively.

Where Germans use a negative construction, we would use a positive construction. "Ohne große Aufwand" means simply and effectively. You can leave out the "darstellen" because it's obvious within this particular context that they offer these services.

I'm off the mark on this one concerning "darstellen" - as pointed out by the little bear. I'll be the first to admit it! Time for my (late) morning coffee! The offers the possibility to present items in the system/cataologue reliably, simply and effectively.

disagree  Ulrike Kraemer: Sorry, Paul - but the sentence makes no sense at all without the verb (darzustellen/herzustellen, whatever). // But they don't offer services - they offer the possibility to "?????" both fashion and NOS with only little effort. /// ;-)

-> Right, LittleBalue, the verb darstellen of course can't be let out. What was I thinking? Time for some coffee! See my added comment!
