gebundene Farbe surface colour Explanation: Surface colour is the perceived colour influenced by the physical characteristics of the surface emitting (or reflecting) the light. gebundene Farbe object (perceived) color Explanation: object color: gebundene Farbe aperture color: freie Farbe http://www.gpa.etsmtl.ca/cours/sys844/Documents/Document1.pd... Object (perceived) color Color perceived as belonging to an object either self-luminous or non-self-luminous. http://www.pluslight.com/plusrite/zw/glossary/o.htm object perceived color EN: object perceived color, object perceived colour DE: gebundene Farbe Definition EN: the colour perceived to belong to an object which is either self-luminous or nonself-luminous http://www.mijnwoordenboek.nl/EN/theme/EN/EN/DE/O/1.html The phenomenon of color constancy best demonstrates that: A) an object's perceived color is influenced by its surrounding objects. B) the retina has three types of color receptors. C) the brain processes information about color and shape simultaneously. D) quivering eye movements help to maintain the perception of color. E) color vision depends on pairs of opposing retinal processes. http://tinyurl.com/bsem5k Perceived color depends on the spectral distribution of the color stimulus, on the size, shape, structure and surround of the stimulus area, on the state of adaptation of the observer’s visual system, and on the observer’s experience of the prevailing and similar situations of observation. Perceived color may appear in several modes of appearance. The names for various modes of appearance are intended to distinguish among qualitative and geometric differences of color perceptions. Modes of color appearance include object-color, surface color, aperture color, film color, volume color, illuminant color, body color, and Ganzfeld color. http://www.inventoland.net/pdf/Reports/understandColor.pdf |

Reference: FYI Reference information: Most of the hits for 'gebundene Farben' relate to Farbe in the sense of paint, but the following information may be useful: Arten der Farbempfindungen Freie Farben erscheinen an keinen Gegenstand gebunden, weisen auf keine Raumlage und keine Struktur hin.
