variable aperture Explanation: also called f-stops; exposure of reflected light falling on light-sensative film is measured ("metered") within the camera body (TTL through-the-lens metering system). "On all but very cheap cameras, the size of the aperture is variable. The degree of variability is indicated by "f" numbers." -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 53 mins (2004-05-12 14:04:34 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- http://www.megapixel.net/cgi-bin/glossary.pl?key=exposure me... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr 3 mins (2004-05-12 14:14:51 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- http://www.megapixel.net/cgi-bin/glossary.pl?key=exposure me... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 5 hrs 3 mins (2004-05-12 18:14:36 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- http://www.megapixel.net/cgi-bin/glossary.pl?key=exposure me... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 5 hrs 4 mins (2004-05-12 18:15:47 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Wow, I don\'t know why the Note added turned up 3 times.
