Auflösung der Geschlechter gender deconstruction Explanation: Her work is broadly opposed to French currents in feminism which affirm 'difference' between what is feminine and masculine (such as de Beauvoir or Irigaray) wheras Butler herself, seeks to deconstruct that binary. In sum Foucault has been one of the primary influences on current thought including modern feminism. To feminists who are interested in Foucauldian applications I would suggest the above mentioned work as well as 'Bodies that Matter', a later work by Butler. http://hyper.vcsun.org/HyperNews/battias/get/foucault/fem/9/... It's odd to wrap my brain around these concepts. I tend to throw much of feminism out the window because I feel that most things are over done - does it matter if I want to use a strap-on? Why do feminist feel the need to be in my bedroom as much as fundamentalist Christians do? Why would women want to gain lack? (Don't ask.) I think we're onto something with gender deconstruction. And I think I like doing it because it's anarchistic. http://www.creativedoubt.org/main/archives/005307.php In heutigen vernetzten Umgebungen stellt sich jedoch eine neue Herausforderung: Früher unabhängige Inseln von IT-Systemen wachsen zusammen und formen komplexe, heterogene Umgebungen. Diese sind durch die Auflösung ("deconstruction") von traditionellen funktionellen Einheiten und die Konsolidierung ("consolidation") von gemeinsamen Infrastruktur-Services gekennzeichnet. http://www-home.fh-konstanz.de/~birkh/forschung.htm -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 4 hrs 12 mins (2005-01-12 01:58:10 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Or deconstruction of the sexes: --- In Taafe Fanga, Drabo has revised the Sigi myth (which seems originally to have expressed male anxiety over female control of fertility) into a myth about women\'s right to resist patriarchy, in the griot\'s words, \"to fight for the right to be different and equal. This film, along with Drabo\'s 1991 feature Ta Dona provide important examples of how contemporary African artists are freely reinterpreting traditional belief systems to illuminate pressing social issues. As well as being an important deconstruction of the sexes in a male dominated society it is, also a genuinely funny take on gender politics. http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=8486&next=1 |
