door stop
Explanation:
I think door stop is fine. While I have never heard the term Türweiche, your explaining it, made me look it up. It seems that anytime you want to stop a door from sliding down, you need to buy a door stop.

that's what I thought, too, until I checked what to use to stop a door from sliding down and it was the same term over and over which popped up?! I definitely would ask the client what he or she thinks.
There are some door stoppers which you screw into the door jam -- horizontally -- I cannot even find the term Türweiche in any of my books. I guess it means the Tür soll weichen
Good luck and a great day,
Lis

Notes to answerer
Asker: A doorstop is usually screwed into the floor to stop the door from opening too far and the handle from knocking a big hole in the plaster of the wall. I don't know if it can be used for vertical doors. I'm worried sick :-)
