I have to translate this work into English. It´s referring to a modern knife block, which contains some sort of "bristles" (for want of a better Word) which allows you to put in any kind or knife regardless of shape or size. The best I got was "bristle insert" but I´m sure there´s a better equivalent.

Thanks in advance,

Fibre insert/bristle insert/slot-free design/slot-free knife block
Explanation:
This manufacturer calls it a fibre insert:
http://www.tojiro.co.uk/store/product/universal-knife-block/

WMF calls it a bristle insert:
"WMF Wooden Knife block with stainless steel stand has a bristle insert instead of the usual pre determined opening for the knives." (the rest of the sentence after the bristles sounds a bit Denglish)

This one calls them wooden skewers:

"Thanks to the wooden skewers it will hold almost any cooking equipment safely. It’s 30,4 centimers (about a foot) high, so most knives should fit.

The Schaschlik knife block is hand-made with European pine and bamboo skewers. You can get it for $125.00 on GreenerGrassDesign."

Kapoosh calls them "Freedom Rods"

"No slots! Any knife! Any place! Any time! The unique Kapoosh™ Freedom Rods allow you to mix-and-match kitchen knives from different sets and to store practically any utensil easily - anywhere in the block. Plus, the rods keep your knives sharper by eliminating the potential of scraping the blades on the edges of traditional knife block slots."

And a way to get around it:

"This unique block features a slot-free design so you can insert a knife anywhere there's room. Plus, your knives stay sharper longer since they're not hitting a dulling surface every time they're pulled in or out."

agree  Ramey Rieger (X): I would call it a wedge, as it holds the knives, but brush is good.
