German term or phrase: Abstoß
Hi folks,

I'm not sure what to make of "Abstoss" in the following phrases. The text relates to plant used for processing and storing salt:

- Im Werk 2 wird offenbar aus beiden Gründen der Weg des *Abstoßes* der Waschlösungen zum Schlamm vorgezogen
- Verwertung von *Abstoßlösungen*
- Bei hohen MgCl2-Gehalten im Rohsalz ist ein technologischer *Lösungsabstoß* zum Ausgleich der MgCl2-Bilanz erforderlich

I can't quite make anything useful out of it with "repel" / "repulsion" or variants - can anyone assist with an established term in English usage, please?

I'm still somewhat in the dark about this, but ultimately went with "discharge" as sounding most appropriate in the various contexts. Thanks to everyone who responded.

I cannot find any references that use it this way, but in your context, might this be an option?
