junior lecturer Explanation: I think. New Indo-Aryan studies reached a high level thanks to the activities of Monika Boehm-Tettelbach (formerly Monika Thiel-Horstmann, Monika Jordan). She came to Bonn in 1969 as an academic assistant, became junior lecturer ("Akademischer Rat") in 1971 and continued as senior lecturer ("Akademische Oberrätin") from 1973 onwards. After her habilitation in 1976 she continued in Bonn, and from 1979 as extraordinary professor. Her main focus, partly in cooperation with Chopra, was on the research of the historical bhakti literature of Northern India and modern Hindi literature. http://www.indologie.uni-bonn.de/english/start.htm Akademischer Rat [abgekürzt AR] beamteter wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter mit Forschungs- und/oder Organisationsaufgaben; kann zum Akad.
