German term

mit Gleitmittel beschicken

German to English Medical Medical: Dentistry Endodontics Text
"Die Feile wird vor jedem Einführen in den Kanal mit Gleitmittel beschickt."

From a text about endodontics, root canal therapy etc. A file is "beschickt" with lubricant before being inserted into the root canal.

I'm a bit dubious about the usual translations of beschicken and wonder if I could just say coated? TIA for your help.

lubricated

Hmm, how about just writing "lubricated"?

"The file is lubricated each time it is inserted...." seems to work.

you could always turn it around and say sth. like

'lubricant is applied to the file...'
'the file is lubricated...'
'lubricate the file...'
'apply lubricant to the file...'
