: I've always thought, Dilatation (German), dilation (English), but Dorland's and Meriam-Webster prefer dilatation, and in the context "angioplasty" you get )moderately) more hits in MEDLINE for "balloon dilatation" .... so :-)

I thought the same, but Thieme prefers dilatation as well and the web (pretending now this is a reliable source) also gives a lot more hits for dilatation. However, I think they are pretty exchangeable. Thanks ;-)
