beamer Explanation: Apparently, technically, it's the sort of projector you can connect to a computer system, see definition below: http://foldoc.doc.ic.ac.uk/foldoc/foldoc.cgi?beamer So you could leave it as a beamer. But they may also be using it in a more general context (because it sounds English and cool!) so you may be happier with projector. A couple more links below for good measure! beamer / projector Explanation: Quite often the traditional (German)distinguishing line between these is made at beamer: has a separate large lenses for each of the RGB signals; quite often installed stationary, i.e. mounted under the ceiling projector: internal makeup similar to a projector for daylight pictures; single lamp, shining through a tiny LCD, projecting the LCD's image; commonly used as mobile projection devices. Given your portable power supply context, the latter one seems to be the case for you. |
