German term or phrase: intensive Fortbildung
Context:

"... und nutzen (Sie) die Gelegenheit zu intensiver Fortbildung und fachspezifischer Kommunikation."

Talking about a trade fair + congress, where delegates can not only find out about the latest developments in their field, but can also do the above. I'm just not sure how best to put it, but I'm not happy with the rather literal "and take the opportunity to gain intensive training...".

CPE workshops
Explanation:
continuing professional education in the US; many of the Google results relate to such trade shows

And if I may I'd like to take this opportunity to add that you could also go with "talking shop" for "fachspezifische Kommunikation" and then you'd have a cute little repetition of shop ... or maybe it's not really that cute after all, come to think of it. Anyway, just file this semi-precious gem under gratuitous advice.
