German term or phrase: Der zu schleudernde Teil
Schleuderprüfungen dürfen nur in der Schleudergrube (Gr. Wuchtanlage) durchgeführt werden. Ist in den Zeichnungen und Laufkarten keine Schleuderdrehzahl angegeben, so ist mit der 1,2-fachen maximalen Betriebsdrehzahl zu schleudern. Der zu schleudernde Teil ist zwei Minuten mit Schleuderdrehzahl anzutreiben. Danach ist bei Wuchtdrehzahl die Restunwucht zu kontrollieren.

The part to be tested for overspeed? I presume overspeed is correct instead of centrifugation?

agree  Chris Pr: Maybe the best solution here...whilst also avoiding those repeating 'spinny' words...

object to be spun

Explanation:
..in the spin pit?

More context needed. But look at this:
"Broadly, test blades were spun in the spin pit to simulate a rotating engine." https://dspace.mit.edu/handle/1721.1/28895

spin pit = Schleudergrube?
spin test = Schleuderprüfung?

Not sure, Jonathan. People translating in this field should weigh in on this. To me at least, 'overspeed test' looks like an overtranslation of 'Schleudertest'.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks for the suggestion and link! In all the dictionaries, "Schleuderprüfung" seems to comes up as "overspeed test". Is spinning the object the same as carrying out an overspeed test? https://www.dictindustry.de/deutsch-englisch/schleuderpr%C3%BCfung

Asker: Thanks for your input! All help appreciated!

agree  philgoddard: This gives three meanings, of which only "spin/centrifuge" makes sense: http://www.collinsdictionary.com/us/dictionary/german-englis...

the part to be slung

Explanation:
This involves a centrifugal type of testing system that slings or flings certain test parts.

Sling tests may only be carried out in the centrifugal pit (large balancing system). If no spin speed is specified in the drawings and job cards, it shall run at 1.2 times the maximum operating speed.
