"hold up" Explanation: Acc. to Ernst, a 'Vorhalter' is a dolly (holding-up tool) used in riveting. This might be the reason for the inverted commas, as the Z axis is raised slightly to "hold it up" and therefore prevent sagging (Durchbiegung). On the other hand, it might be better simply to say that "raising the Z axis counteracts possible sagging". |
