@itla: me too, yes the text has to do with films as well, just cannot find the term and big deadline stress

Stephen, does anything in your context suggest that Verlegen could refer to the application of films, such as UV filters, etc.? I think "verlegen" has a special meaning in the glass industry.

Assembly room

Sorry, Stephen, but at least I'm sure it's not a storage room. Architectural glass is assembled and bonded under clean room conditions, and the assembly process also includes laying films and laminating. Assembly room is a Q&D suggestion.

sounds simply like a storage room - where the items are placed while awaiting an additional processing step or shipping.
