From a book on corporate management/governance. The author criticizes the current understanding of corporate governance (which, he says, places much too much emphasis on legal and financial aspects); in this sentence he makes the point that is very well possible to define the **content??** of right and good corporate management. (By the way: he insists on saying "right and good").

Is it really possible to speak of "content" here? Or should I say "essence"? Or what else could it be?
I do need a noun.

Thanks, Phil! You convinced me to forget about the noun in this instance - and treat the next as a new challenge ;-)
