The phrase occurs in the last sentence and I'm wondering if it's a typo or is it correct phrasing. If it's correct, what does it mean?

Das sogenannte "Lokalisieren" kann sowohl als Teilaspekt als auch als übergeordneter Bereich des Übersetzens angesehen werden. Bei der Lokalisierung geht es darum, ein Produkt im weitesten Sinne an ein länderspezifisches Gebietsschema anzupassen. Im Falle eines Automobils könnte das bedeuten, dass bereits bei seiner Fabrikation das Lenkrad und das Armaturenbrett rechts installiert werden und das Tachometer die Geschwindigkeit in Meilen pro Stunde anzeigt (für den britischen Markt vorgesehen). Im Falle geschriebenen Textes ermöglicht diese Anpassung an das Zielland die Interaktion in der eigenen Sprache mit ihren kulturspezifischen Anforderungen.

i.e. as opposed to the \"physical\" localization just described with the steering wheel in the car, here they are talking about localizing a written piece.

Explanation:
Ich glaube nicht, dass der geschriebene Text etwas mit dem Auto zu tun haben muss - ist nur ein weiterer Teilaspekt des Lokalisierens genannt. Das Werbematerial (blablabla) - oder auch ein Sachbuch - muss sich nach den kulturellen und sprachlichen Gegebenheiten des Ziellandes richten (und daher den "Ford Nova" in spanischsprachigen Ländern anders nennen). Auch viele Sachbücher müssen für den lokalen Markt bearbeitet werden - das gilt für viele Themenbereiche. In der Belletristik müssen oft Wortspiele "lokalisiert" werden. Die Reihe lässt sich beliebig fortsetzen.
