Zwei andere Probanden aus den Altbundesländern hatten „no“ zunächst als „nein“ interpretiert. Informant WW erklärte diese Deutung mit der Orientierung am Englischen und legte ein Beispiel nach, wie dies zunächst missverstanden wurde:.....


XX. (Informant): Das „no“ das, was ja für ein "Ja" steht. Man weiß gar nicht, warum das so ausgesprochen wird. Das deutet ja eigentlich mehr auf „nein“.

Auch für Informant XX deutet „no“ eher auf „nein“ hin, dieser Proband verwies jedoch ohne *veranschauende* beispiele auf diese Tatsache:
